Until October 15, the Zervos Museum in Vézelay (Yonne) is offering a charming and informative exhibition about Piero Crommelynck. This engraver, born in Italy in 1934, lent his talent to numerous artists, including Pablo Picasso.

Son of playwright Fernand Crommelynck, Piero Crommelynck (1934-2001) was practically born with a pencil in his hand. Encouraged by his family to practice drawing from a young age, he studied with his older brothers Milan and Aldo in the renowned studio of Roger Lacourière, the Parisian engraver of Matisse, Braque, and Léger. At 17, Piero Crommelynck discovered Montmartre life and a certain Pablo Picasso, whose genius immediately fascinated him. The two men developed a long friendship, alongside their professional collaboration.
